This is the latest project. I'm out of town until next week so it'll be on hold for a few days. I'm excited to try some new things with this painting once I actually start working the values and edges. Hopefully it'll turn out.
You are painting/drawing my daughter. I have never joined one of these blog groups before but felt compelled to after I saw your work. I want you to know how effectively you have captured Vanessa's essence.I saw your first painting of her months ago and was taken aback then with how amazingly accurate you were in your portrayal of our little Vanessa. In this one, you have done it again...her calves, her feet, the tilt of her head, the porportions of her body. But her face ,her soul is there in your work and I think that is the most difficult to capture accurately and I wanted you to know that in my opinion, you have succeeded.
And I wanted to thank you for that because it moved me in such a way that I felt it sacred and compelled to thank you for you sensitive, intuitive, creative work. With great admiration, Tamara Barrus
HAHA!!! See I harass you and you start posting again. Sorry about not calling to go draw over the break. With the new baby and Linda recovering from the surgery I was needed more at home than I thought I would be. We'll have to get together though one of these days.
Hey Justin, I just happened to pick up the Sept Southwest Art mag and saw your painting on the cover. Totally great! I knew it was your cover when it came out and was going to email you but we were in the middle of moving to Missouri. Yeah, Missouri... don't ask. Anyway, just wanted you to know that I'm glad you're doing so well. I'll keep watching for wonderful things from you. Shannon PS here's my website, not updated since the move ShannonsPortfolio.com
