I wasn't thinking of Kanevsky specifically on this piece but he is one of my favorite living painters for sure. So, I take that as a compliment peter. but hopefully I dont look like I'm a copier. but I'm super in to experimenting with some interesting edges like Kanevsky does. His paintings kill me. So cool.
This is wonderful! I'm wondering what specifically are the "new things" you were doing on this one? It certainly doesn't seem like you were experimenting, it's pretty perfect. I passed along the Arte y Pico award to you. If you want to accept it, check out my blog.
Firstly, congrats on the opening of your building and academy! It reminds me of when I was your age, and I was able to have a building built for my still-young optometric practice. That was back in 1987. To this day, I still am able to feel the excitement of stepping into my new building! Again...congratulations Justin.
Regarding the painting of your nephew, what is it that was different that you tried and like?

What wonderful soft colours and tones. A delightful child study and proves again why I adore your work and wish I could attend your new academy.
